First international festival on craft village heritage set for Hanoi this November
VOV.VN - The first international festival on craft village preservation and development is scheduled to take place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel from November 14 to 18, with additional sideline activities to be held across Hanoi from September through November.

The event is jointly organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the Hanoi municipal government. It aims to preserve and promote the nation’s traditional cultural values while fostering new cultural expressions in Vietnamese craft villages, particularly those in Hanoi, which serve as a central hub for spreading these values to other localities.
The festival will also be an occasion to honour craft villages and artisans, and to inspire interest in traditional crafts among younger generations.
At the same time, it will help promote the capital’s craft products to both domestic and international visitors.
Highlights of the event include an incense-offering ceremony at Kinh Thien Palace within the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the official opening ceremony, and an awards presentation recognising outstanding Vietnamese handicraft products. In addition to a competition showcasing traditional crafts from the capital, the festival will feature an exhibition space highlighting the work of artisans from Hanoi, other provinces, and international craft villages.
Additionally, a seminar on preserving and developing Hanoi’s craft villages, a handicraft design competition, and an investment promotion conference on rural industries and craft village development will also be held on the sidelines of the festival.
