First Hoi An-Korea Fine Arts and Crafts Exchange

(VOV) - The debut Hoi An-Korea Fine Arts and Crafts Exchange kicked off on December 2 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the UNESCO-World cultural heritage of Hoi An ancient city (December 4, 1999-2014).

Within the event, which runs through December 4, many activities have been planned including a craft products display (lanterns, Thanh Ha potteries, Kim Bong furniture and Quang Nam silk) and craft presentation.

The craftsmen from Gwangju city in the Republic of Korea (RoK) have set up a display showcasing their traditional crafts of weaving, paper making and bamboo art.

In addition, Hoi An city has planned traditional art performances every evening during the event and a photo exhibition on world cultural heritage of Hoi An ancient city.

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disability, Hoi Anancient town in co-ordination with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Korean craftsmen have also organized a talk on developing fine arts and crafts in Hoi An city and Gwangju city.

Hoi An People’s Committee Vice Chairman Truong Van Bay said the exchange should promote cultural cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK, as well as fine arts and crafts to domestic and foreign tourists.
