Films mark US bombing blitz in Hanoi

Vietnamese people and foreign expatriates will have a chance to relive the most heroic atmosphere of the anti-US time when attending a film week featuring “Hanoi-Dien Bien Phu in the Air” victory.

The event, starting on December 12, aims to mark the 40th anniversary the 12 day-and-night battle against the US B-52 bombing of Hanoi in December 1972 that led to the end of the war between Vietnam and the US.

The first two films to be on display on December 13 are “Hanoi – 12 Days and Night” and “A Memory of a Time”.

The “Hanoi – 12 Days and Nights”, which was screened in 10 international film festivals, recreates the historically memorable moments in which the ordinary Hanoians were determined to fight against US B52 blitz for their beloved capital city of Hanoi.

Other films to be screened during the week are “Story of a Remote Mountainous Region”, “Hanoi – The Historic Epic” and “The Historic Year of 1972”.
