Film screenings to celebrate August Revolution and National Day 2024
VOV.VN - Four Vietnamese films are due to be screened nationwide from August 19 to September 5 as part of activities to mark the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution on August 19 and the country's National Day on September 2.
The highlight of the event will be the screening of the film “915” produced by An Thai Phuong Joint Stock Company.
The 90-minute film tells the story about young volunteers during the resistance war against the US imperialists as they try to liberate the South and unify the country.
Film screenings will consist of two documentary films which showcase the country’s construction and development efforts.
They include the documentary film "Luật sư Vũ Trọng Khánh" (Lawyer Vu Trong Khanh) who wrote the first draft of the nation's Constitution.
Furthermore, "Một lần sống" (One life) produced by the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (DSF) will also be shown at the event.
Film screenings will also involve the cartoon “The Hero of Tản Mountain”. It tells the legendary story of the battle between Sơn Tinh (Mountain God) and Thủy Tinh (Water God), as well as the struggle faced by the Vietnamese people as they reclaim the land from the water during ancient times, with the tale taking on a fresh and modern approach.
Viewers can enjoy the familiar ancient tale through magnificent 3D visuals and impressive visual effects which are expected to provide a new and engaging experience.
The event is being jointly held by the Cinema Department; film studios; the departments of culture, sports, and tourism; as well as cinema centres nationwide.
