Film screening brings Vietnam closer to Australian audiences
VOV.VN - The Vietnamese film Tôi đã thấy hoa vàng trên cỏ xanh (Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass) was screened in Australia on June 15, captivating audiences with its tender storytelling and nostalgic portrayal of life in rural Vietnam during the 1980s.

The event, organised by the Embassy of Vietnam in Australia, concluded with warm applause from around 200 international guests on hand.
The film brought audiences to the tranquil, picturesque Vietnamese countryside, capturing everyday life in the 1980s. Its gentle, emotional storyline, filled with subtle, nuanced moments, combined with stunning imagery of Vietnam’s landscapes, deeply moved the Australian viewers.
Before the screening, attendees had the chance to explore a collection of 30 artistic photographs showcasing Vietnam’s natural beauty and vibrant life. The images vividly depict everything from endless rice fields and ancient streets to modern architecture and touching moments of daily life, offering a multifaceted view of the country and its people.
Through the film screening and photo exhibition, Australian audiences gained a deeper appreciation for Vietnam’s charm, people, and developmental achievements. Many expressed their admiration for the country’s natural beauty and voiced interest in learning more about its culture and people.
Alongside the film screening and photo exhibition, around 200 guests were also introduced to a selection of Vietnamese products currently available in major Australian supermarket chains, including dried jackfruit, cashew nuts, guava juice, and coffee.
