Festival honouring Vietnamese brocade culture to get underway in Lao Cai

VOV.VN - A festival to honour Vietnamese brocade culture will be held from November 8 - 10 in Sa Pa, a famous tourist resort in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, to feature a wide range of cultural activities and art performances.

A music gala involving a fashion show aimed at introducing traditional brocade costumes and performances to revive brocade product making will open the festival.

During the three-day festival, visitors will have the chance to learn more about brocades made by different ethnic groups in Vietnam such as Mong, Dao, Tay, and Giay.

The festival will demonstrate the process of brocade weaving for both locals and tourists.
Fashion shows, including traditional and modern brocade designs, will be the highlight of the festival.

High-quality brocade products will also be displayed for sale.

Folk games are also expected to create a festive atmosphere among participants.
