Festival connects Vietnamese and US culture
The first Vietnam-US Cultural Festival took place at the Vietnam Centre for Exhibition of Cultural and Arts in Hanoi on June 25.
The event was organised for Vietnamese Family Day 2023 on June 28, as part of activities celebrating the 28th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the US (July 11, 1995 - 2023).
A variety of activities were held during the festival, including art performances by Hanoi’s children, comedy performances highlighting the differences between the cultures of Vietnam and the US, self-defence classes for students and a rock music show.
Pavilions featuring products from businesses around the country and abroad attracted many visitors. Representatives from firms and event organisers also attended a luncheon to share experiences in operations and management.
An impressive check-in space showcasing Harley Davidson was arranged for 500 people. This activity attracted a large number of visitors with a passion for the brand.
Visitors also enjoyed a culinary show with dishes made by famous chefs from restaurants around the capital city.
According to the chairwoman of the Hanoi Association for Communication and Public Relations Pham Thanh Ha, the Vietnam - US Cultural Festival 2023 successfully strengthened cultural bonds between the people from the two countries and raised awareness of Vietnamese Family Day.
“The Vietnam – USA Cultural Festival will be held annually to boost cultural exchange and promote trade, as well as introduce opportunities to study and travel with each other,” she said.
