Festival casts spotlight on ethnic minority cuisine

(VOV) -Ethnic minority traditional dishes will take centre stage at a food festival at the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups Culture and Tourism Village, January 1-3, located in the Dong Mo District of the Hanoi suburb of Son Tay.
According to the organizing board, the event aims to highlight the importance of cultural values, introduce culinary arts, and strengthen solidarity among ethnic minority people in Vietnam.

At the event, visitors will have a chance to enjoy fruit carving art demonstrations and try local special foods. In fact, they can even try to make these kinds of foods themselves.
Other activities planned include traditional folk games such as keo co (Tug of war), nhay bao bo (Bag jumping), and bit mat dap nieu (beat pot while blindfolded), folklore singing and dance performances.
