Fashion Week to feature 800 new designs

As many as 800 new designs by 17 Vietnamese and foreign designers will be staged during the Vietnam Autumn-Winter Fashion Week 2014 from May 11-14 in Hanoi.

At a press conference on the event on May 7, designer Minh Hanh, who has accompanied with Vietnam Fashion Weeks during the past 12 years, revealed that collections of young and emerging designers will be introduced. 

Among them is Quang Nhat, the winner of the 2013 Vietnam Design Star Contest, who will bring to the show his unique collection made of Vietnamese and Indian sari fabric, going with wooden accessories designed by famous artisans in Hue. 

The collections to be introduced follow the world fashion trend and use new materials, Hanh said. 

The event will also feature designs of Chula – a brand by Spanish designer Diego Cortiza, which has been present in Vietnam in the past decade, she added.
