Fans in Ho Chi Minh City thrilled by 'Gangnam Style' Star
VOV.VN - A huge number of Vietnamese music lovers were thrilled by the appearance of K-pop sensation Psy as he performed his hit Gangnam Style at the GENfest music festival in Ho Chi Minh City on November 24.
The event saw fans excited by the catchy melody and Psy’s iconic horse dance performed during the show.
In his first performance in Vietnam, the Korean star also showcased his other songs, such as Gentleman, Daddy, Hangover, and That That.
PSY, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, was born in 1977 into a wealthy family, but chose to pursue music instead of inheriting the family business. He debuted in 2001 with the album PSY from the Psycho World!
In 2012, his hit song Gangnam Style became a global phenomenon, receiving one billion views on YouTube. After 12 years, the music video has since amassed over five billion views.
Other hits, such as Daddy have garnered over 700 million views, while Gentleman has surpassed onebillion. In 2018, PSY established his own entertainment company.
GENfest 2024 opened with the theme of "Street in the City", giving Vietnamese audiences the chance to enjoyamazing performances by talented Vietnamese artists, including Suboi, Chi Pu, Karik, Andree Right Hand, HIEUTHUHAI, Wren Evans, tlinh, Quang Hung MasterD, Duong Domic, Wxrdie, Mono, and Wean, with SlimV serving as the music director.
Last year, several Korean artists also took part in the festival, including Lee Hyori, HyunA, Zion.T, and ZICO.
