Taste of Australia is a partnership between the Australian Government and Australian and Vietnamese producers, distributors, retailers, restaurants, and organisations.

The partnership showcases the best Australia has to offer, bringing it to the whole of Vietnam, led by Taste of Australia ambassador celebrity chef Luke Nguyen.

This year’s program kicked off with a community BBQ in Danang on May 5. The event features live music, delicious Aussie food and beverages, and fun games for the entire family. Aussie 80s singer-songwriter Nick Barker will perform all of his classic hits.

Now in its third year, the BBQ is a public community event and attracts growing crowds every year. Held at the Ocean Villas Danang, this event is a great day out by the beautiful Danang coastline.

The Taste of Australia NOSH Supperclub Dinner is back in 2019 on May 11. This event showcases the fresh, clean, healthy and high-quality nature of Australian food and beverages that are available in Vietnam, as well as the innovative nature of the team of Australian chefs.

This event is not to be missed, as the chefs prepare each course live in front of diners giving a rare opportunity for guests to ask questions as their food is being cooked. The 5-course menu is paired with Australian wines and features specialty Australian produce.

If you want to learn more about Australian wine and the diverse range of quality varieties available in Vietnam, don’t miss to join the third Taste of Australia Food and Wine Journey on May 19 in Ho Chi Minh City.

As part of the program, Australia’s dynamic film industry will showcase some of the countries best film offerings with the Taste of Australia Twilight Cinema event to be held at the Australian Embassy in Hanoi on May 18.

The cinema event will show a number of award winning movies, highlighting Australia’s unique cultural identity.

Guests will also enjoy accessing to premium snacks and beverages during the film screening.

Australia has some of the best culinary and hospitality training institutions in the world. Taste of Australia 2019 will again feature its flagship Culinary Competition, bringing together culinary students from across Vietnam to compete for the chance to win a full one-year scholarship to the Blue Mountains International Hotel School in New South Wales, Australia.

This event is hugely popular, as it showcases local Vietnamese talent as well as Australian produce, and produces some outstanding and creative food. The heats will take place in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Danang on May 21, with the final taking place in Ho Chi Minh City on May 24.

Taste of Australia would not be possible without the generous support of all our sponsors and partners, including Bluescope Vietnam Limited, Torrens University, CHC Hospitality, Golden Garden, Heart of Darkness, Jetstar Pacific, Klever Fruits, Meatworks, FoodSource, Organique, Park Hyatt Saigon, RADA, Red Apron, Macadamia Association, Viet-Uc, and William Angliss.
