Exhibition to honour Vietnam’s fine arts

Artists from the central city of Da Nang will display 60 of their paintings, sculptures, and lacquer, oil and canvas, and water colour paintings in an exhibition at the city’s Fine Arts Museum from December 6-12.

A museum representative said the exhibition will present annual prizes for local artists on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of Vietnam Fine Arts Day on December 10, 2017.

Two seminars on the development of fine arts in the central and Central Highlands region, and Vietnam’s fine arts in contemporary development will also be held on December 6 at the museum at 78 Le Duan street, Da Nang city.

The museum displays 413 works by artists from the city and provinces in the region.

It became one of popular cultural destinations for tourists after the Cham Sculpture Museum and the Da Nang Museum.

The central city is well known as a centre for stone arts in the central region, and the craft became more popular during the tourism boom in the early 1990s.
