Exhibition reflects Vietnam-Lao ties through lens of the press

Hundreds of magazines, newspapers, books, documentaries, and photos on Vietnam, Laos and their friendship are on display at the National Palace of Culture in Vientiane, Laos.

The exhibition on Vietnam and Laos through the lens of the press opened on November 2 to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962) and the 40th year of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty on Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977).

The opening ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan, head of the Lao Party’s Commission for Propaganda and Training Kikeo Khaykhamphihoune, and Lao Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala.

Some 474 newspapers and magazines, nearly 90 books and 240 photos on the traditional relations between the two countries and their peoples, nature and economic achievements are exhibited alongside a collection of documentaries about Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Bosengkham Vongdala said the exhibition not only shows the development of the press in Vietnam but also reflects the Vietnamese customs and culture.
