Exhibition on incredible mission at Tham Luang
The Ministry of Culture will hold an exhibition titled "Tham Luang Incredible Mission: The Global Agenda” at the Lifestyle Hall, Siam Paragon, in Bangkok from August 22 to September 9, 2018.

Culture Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat said that the 19-day exhibition will present information and pictures on the rescue mission that brought 12 schoolboys of the Wild Boar Academy football team and their coach out of Tham Luang Cave in the Tham Luang – Khun Nam Nang Non Forest Park, Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai province.
The 13 lives had been trapped deep inside the flooded cave since July 23, 2018. They were located on July 2, 10 days after they were reported missing. After that, relevant officials, volunteers, and Thai and international rescue personnel launched the rescue mission, which was stepped up from July 8 to 10.
The successful and historic operations to bring all the 13 lives safely out of the cave was highly lauded by the international community. It took 19 days for the search and rescue operations, with the participation of various sectors, while sympathy was pouring in from all over the world. The only regretful outcome of the incident was the tragic death of a Thai volunteer and former Thai Navy SEAL.
The Culture Minister cited the Tham Luang incident as an important event that attracted world attention. His Majesty the King and members of the Royal Family expressed their concern over the incident and gave strong support for the search and rescue operations.
The incident showed the unity of both Thais and other members of the world community who gave their encouragement and joined unified efforts to carry out the operations in a systematic manner, based on international standards.
He explained that "Tham Luang Incredible Mission: The Global Agenda” will provide lessons for the people, especially children and youth. It will also disseminate knowledge about geomorphology, physical descriptions of Tham Luang Cave, and other relevant information.
The exhibition is divided into seven zones. On August 22, persons involved in the Tham Luang rescue mission will participate in a panel discussion to share knowledge and experience from the operations to save the 13 lives. The Ministry of Culture will later organize this exhibition in all the four regions of Thailand.
It will also prepare archives on the incident in three languages – Thai, English, and Chinese – which are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
