Exhibition honors President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam-Thailand friendship

VOV.VN - The Consulate General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, organized a special exhibition – Ho Chi Minh, symbol of the era, highlighting Vietnam-Thailand friendship at the Namnueng Cultural Center in Udon Thani rovince, a place once visited by President Ho Chi Minh nearly a century ago during his journey to seek the path to national liberation.

The event was held in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

The exhibition features over 200 historical documents and photographs, displayed across 80 large panels. It is structured into five main thematic sections, providing a comprehensive portrayal of President Ho Chi Minh’s life and revolutionary legacy, from his early years searching for a path to national liberation, to his leadership in Vietnam’s independence movement, and his contributions to peace and international solidarity.

Nguyen Van Duong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Site in Hanoi, highlighted the significance of bringing the exhibition to Thailand.

“We have chosen Thailand as the venue to present this exhibition to promote President Ho Chi Minh’s remarkable legacy among the Thai people, international friends, and the Vietnamese community in Thailand. It is also an opportunity to reinforce revolutionary tradition, nurture national pride, and inspire future generations to continue building a prosperous Vietnam,” he said.

The exhibition offers overseas Vietnamese not only a chance to reflect on the life of the young Nguyen Tat Thanh – Nguyen Ai Quoc from 1911 to 1930, but also an emotional journey through the landmarks and historical sites in Thailand where he lived and worked with the Vietnamese community, particularly during the years 1928–1929.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site met with historical witnesses who had direct or familial connections to President Ho Chi Minh’s activities in Thailand.

Following the event, all exhibited materials will be permanently transferred to the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site in Udon Thani and the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Nakhon Phanom province.
