Exhibition features Vietnamese, French and Brazilian artists
(VOV) - Fifty paintings and photographs by 21 painters and photographers from Vietnam, France and Brazil are on display in the “Flow of Art: Hanoi-Paris-Rio de Janeiro” exhibition, which opened on April 26 in Paris at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Association in France (UGVF).
The exhibition provides an opportunity for artists from the three countries and international collegues to meet, exchange ideas and learn about the contemporary art scene in the three different cultures.
Vietnam is represented by the oil paintings “Street” (La Rue) by Vu Duc Trung, “Faith” (Croyance) by Tran Trung Thanh, “Green Trees in the City” (Les Arbres Verts dans la Ville) by Hoang Duy Vang, and “Lotus” by Nguyen Ngoc Phuong.
The painting “Rain in the Old Quarter” (Il Pleut sur le Vieux Quartier) by Overseas Vietnamese Pat Cam was particularly popular with visitors. Organizing board member photographer Eric Huynh said that some of the artists have donated paintings to be auctioned off after the exhibition.
All the money collected from the auction will be given to Vietnamese and Brazilian artists to help them pay for participating in future exhibitions scheduled in France, Europe, Asia, and South America this July.
The Paris exhibition will last until May 11.
