Europe - Vietnam Documentary Film Festival offers free entry to viewers

VOV.VN - The 13th Europe - Vietnam Documentary Film Festival is expected to get underway from December 19 to 22 in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, heard a press conference on September 18.

The event is anticipated to bring together a total of 19 unique documentaries from seven countries - Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, England, Finland, Belgium, and hosts Vietnam.

Of these, each European country will participate through one film whilst Vietnam will participate with 12 films, including several films which have won high prizes at international and Vietnamese film festivals.

Addressing the press conference, Trinh Quang Tung, deputy general director in charge of the National Film Documentary and Scientific Studio, emphasised that the annual event aims to promote cultural exchange activities between European countries and the host nation.

The films’ topics will focus on issues faced in existing social life, such as climate change, women's liberation, protection and peaceful coexistence with nature, and the risks of the digital age.

Through film screenings, audiences will be given the opportunity to gain greater insights into Vietnamese culture and people, as well as those of other countries.

In Hanoi, the films are to be screened at the Central Scientific and Documentary Film Studio at No 465 Hoang Hoa Tham street.

Meanwhile, the movies will be screened at DCINE Ben Thanh in No 6 Mac Dinh Chi of District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City. The festival is open to the public free of charge.
