Following the successful launch of the EVSDA in May 2025- a showcase of the EU’s strong commitment to supporting Vietnam’s transition towards sustainability, this year’s awards recognized 20 outstanding teams. Their projects serve as compelling examples of how creativity can drive environmental responsibility, adaptability, and long-term value creation.

Speaking on the event’s significance, EU Ambassador to Vietnam Julien Guerrier said through the Global Gateway strategy, the EU is firmly committed to supporting Vietnam’s green transition, not only in energy, infrastructure, and policy, but also in culture and creativity. Sustainable development is not merely a technological challenge; it is a societal transformation. It requires us to rethink habits, reimagine spaces, redesign products, and reshape lifestyles.

This year’s award theme drew inspiration from natural elements featured in the EU’s strategic communication campaign: wind representing creativity and originality; water symbolizing adaptability and practical application; and the sun signifying sustainability and long-term value.

At the event, an exhibition featured  79 finalist projects across four categories: Architecture, Product Design, Communication Design, and Breakthrough Initiatives.

The display highlighted the aesthetic excellence of the designs while emphasizing their potential to catalyze social change. Each category selected one project for a Special Award.

The EU-Vietnam Sustainable Design Awards, an initiative under the EU Strategic Communications and Public Diplomacy Project (SCPD), aim to recognize outstanding Vietnamese designers who leverage creativity to promote green living, sustainable consumption, and harmony with the environment.

Through professional evaluation, public engagement, and international cooperation, EVSDA 2025 underscores creativity as a vital driver of sustainable development in Vietnam. The awards also serve as a bridge connecting European and Vietnamese values, highlighting ideas and creative communities that contribute to shaping a more sustainable future for the country.

Cultural links help build sustainable future in Vietnam-EU relations
