Ethnic day displays nation’s cultural diversity
VOV.VN - Ethnic minority groups from across Vietnam will have the chance to show off their unique and distinctive culture at the Ethnic Culture Day which is set to take place between April 19 and 21 in Hanoi.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism at a press conference in Hanoi on April 17, the Ethnic Minority Cultural Festival will help boost solidarity between ethnic people. The aim of the event is to give them a platform to display their culture, give them a chance to meet others, and act as a forum for the exchange of ideas.
Some 270 people from a variety of ethnic minority groups will stage traditional festivals and worship rituals at the Culture and Tourism Villages of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups in Son Tay district, located 45km west of Hanoi’s centre.
The highlight of the festival’s events will be a cultural night which will take place on April 19 in honour of the country’s rich cultural diversity.
The event will also host a number of different festivals of ethnic communities from across the country. Traditional musical instruments, cuisine, and folk games will be introduced to visitors.
In addition to these activities, fifty photographs will be showcased in an exhibition. The exhibition will feature the daily lives of ethnic people and local tourism products.
