Eight Taekwondo artists compete at World Champs
(VOV) - Eight Vietnamese martial artists are competing at the World Taekwondo Championships currently underway in Puebla, Mexico.
The squad’s female athletes are Doan Thi Huong Giang (49kg division), Truong Thi Nho (53kg division), Lam Thi Ha Thanh (57kg division), and Pham Thi Thu Hien (62kg division).
Nguyen Huu Nhan (54kg division), Duong Quang Huy (58kg division), Le Huynh Chau (63kg division) and Phan Trung Duc (68kg division) will represent Vietnam in tournament’s men’s competition.
Le Huynh Chau bears the nation’s best medal hopes following his 2012 London Olympic Games qualification and his bronze medal victory at the 2012 Asian Taekwondo Championships.
The July 15-21 tournament has attracted 872 martial artists from 134 countries and territories around the globe.
