Dress rehearsal for Hanoi’s grand celebration
A full-dress rehearsal of the art performance to celebrate the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi was held at My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi on October 7.
The performance, with 10,000 singers and artists taking part, will reflect milestones in the country’s history such as the times when King Ly Thai To read the edifice on the transfer of the capital, Nguyen Trai read the Binh Ngo Dai Cao (Vietnam’s first declaration of independence) and when President Ho Chi Minh read the country’s declaration of independence in 1945.
The event will finish with a magnificent display of fireworks in several places around Hanoi.
