Do Thi Lan Anh wins Best Appearance award at Miss Earth 2023
VOV.VN - Vietnamese contestant Do Thi Lan Anh has become the winner of the “Best Appearance” award at the opening day of Miss Earth pageant, which is currently underway in Ho Chi Minh City.
This comes following Lan Anh winning the title after finishing with 100,000 points higher than the runner-up, the beauty from the Filipino.
With this impressive victory, Lan Anh will double their voting points, with this being a great advantage for the Vietnamese representative in the race for the top 20.
Lan Anh will therefore continue to compete against 89 other foreign contestants across several segments, such as the national costume competition with an outfit made from recycled, environmentally-friendly materials; a swimsuit competition; and a talent contest.
The final night of the event is scheduled to take place in the southern city on December 22, during which the winners of Miss Earth, Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water, and Miss Earth Fire will be announced.
Do Thi Lan Anh, 26, is currently residing in the United States and stands at 1.71 metres tall with body measurements of 85-60-95cm. She left her hometown at the age of one for Europe before then moving to the US to settle down there with her family.
The beauty graduated from California State University Fullerton and has many Vietnamese friends and loves Vietnamese food.
Miss Earth was originally launched in 2001 by Carousel Productions of the Philippines. Along with Miss World, Miss Universe, and Miss International, the contest advocates for environmental awareness, conservation, and social responsibility.
It is the fourth largest international beauty pageant in the world and is highly appreciated by the media for its scale, prestige, and humanistic message.
This marks the second time that Vietnam has played host to this prestigious global pageant, following the 2010 edition.
Previously, Nguyen Phuong Khanh beat 86 other contestants to win Miss Earth 2018, thereby becoming the first beauty of her country to take the crown at one of the Big Four international pageants.
