Diocese of Kon Tum, must-go cultural destination in Central Highlands

VOV.VN - The Diocese of Kon Tum is a must-go cultural destination in the Central Highlands province of the same name. 

Kon Tum Diocese, the biggest Catholic foundation in was built on a land area of 25,110 square kilometers. The diocese's territory covers two Central Highlands’ provinces of Gia Lai and Kon Tum

The diocese is built by French Bishop Martial Jannin, the first bishop of the local Church from 1935 to 1938). A statue of him was set up in front of the diocese

Its architecture is a combination of Western culture and that of indigenous people in the Central Highlands

The three-storey timber building is surrounded by trees

It has a large corridor and wood flooring and stairs


Its history room is in the second floor

It is considered a small museum with artifacts showing activities of Catholic missionaries in the Central Highlands. It also displays musical instruments and farm tools of indegenous ethnic groups.
