Design contest to decide national costume at Miss Universe 2019 underway
VOV.VN - A design contest to decide the national costume which the Vietnamese representative at the Miss Universe 2019 pageant will wear has been launched.

| Designs must be sent to organisers between May 2 and June 15, with no limitation on the designs of each contestant. The best 15 designs will progress to the next round, where they will be voted upon between May 15 to June 15. The Top 3 will then be put to the public who will make the final decision. |

| H’Hen Nie, who finished among the Top 5 of Miss Universe 2018, will serve as one of the judges for the contest. The contest’s winning outfit will be worn by the Vietnamese representative during the National Costume segment of Miss Universe 2019. |

| Hoang Thuy, the first runner-up of Miss Universe 2017, will also be a judge for the contest. |

| The design contest has been running for the past three years and the winning outfits worn by the Vietnamese representatives at the Miss Universe pageants have impressed viewers. At Miss Universe 2016, Nguyen Thi Loan wore an Ao Dai. |
