Dak Lak hosts cuisine contest at Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival
VOV.VN - A cookery contest was held in the central highlands province of Dak Lak at the Ko Tam Community Cultural Ecological Tourism site on March 13 as part of the ongoing 7th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival.
In total, 33 teams made up of restaurants and hotels from across Dak Lak and the central highlands province are competing in the culinary contest. Each team is given VND1 million in advance to purchase ingredients for the contest |
Each team has 90 minutes to prepare their dishes |
The aim of the contest is to promote some of the unique cultural characteristics of the region through special delicacies of the central highlands |
The contest also searches for interesting dishes and drinks which use the flavour of coffee beans. This is a practical activity done to strengthen the solidarity and connectivity of tourism development among localities in the region |
A contestant from the team from Kon Tum province says his team will use traditional methods to cook a bacon dish rather than modern methods. This will see the meat taste different to those who follow the French style |
More than 200 dishes are introduced to local and foreign visitors to help them gain an insight into the culinary values of Vietnam, in particular those of the central highlands region |
