Da Lat to host Vietnam Film Festival for the first time

VOV.VN - The 23rd Vietnam Film Festival is scheduled to take place in Da Lat City, the Central Highland Province of Lam Dong, between November 21 and 25, which will feature the best local movies released over the past two years.

This marks the first time that Da Lat will organise the biennial festival, that aims to honour cinematographic works and artists in the entertainment industry.

The entries submitted to the festival must be in the forms of feature films, documentaries, science films, and cartoons.

They are in the Vietnamese language and produced by local film production establishments or in collaboration with foreign organisations or individuals without copyright disputes. The organisers will be open for applications through to October 30.

A wide range of activities are set to be held during the event, including film screenings in major cities such as Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.

Furthermore, numerous outdoor film screenings are expected to provide a fresh experience for participants during the festival. In addition, seminars on the cinema industry and an exchange between artists and audiences will also get underway.

The festival is held biennially to honour outstanding cinematographic works and artists for their contributions to the development of local cinema.

This year’s festival will be jointly organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the administration of Da Lat City.
