Cyclist wins gold at SEA Games warm-up event
Vietnamese Nguyen Thi That brought home a gold medal from the Pre-SEA Games Road Race which ended in Naypyitaw, Myanmar, on May 24.
She sprinted perfectly in the last metres to top the women's individual time trial mass start event with a time of 2hr 38.44min. She was just half a wheel ahead of Jutatip of Thailand and Kheng Dinal from Singapore.
It was the only one medal that Vietnam grabbed from the tournament. Earlier Vietnamese racers failed in other events.
The team is due to return home on May 25 to prepare for the An Giang Women's Cycling Tournament in early July.
