The workshop will be led by choreographers-actors Vu Ngoc Khai and Ta Hong Hoang Anh, who are experienced in both performing and teaching in Vietnam and Europe.
The two artists are dedicated to the practicality and role of the art of dance in mental health treatment and children’s development. They will introduce movements derived from life, especially living creatures.
Using the language of movements as the foundation and inspiration for self-conversation and connection between people, the workshop is open to everyone, from people who have worked for many years to those looking for ways to enjoy their life.
Particularly, all participants will join the two artists in an improvisational performance on stage with exclusively designed lighting and music.
Vu Ngoc Khai has just returned to Vietnam after 13 years working in Europe. He has joined several projects between Vietnam and Italy and Belgium such as Hanoi Stardust, Mishima, Conical hat and Into the Well.
Besides choreographing, he is also a dance teacher. He and his colleagues founded a non-profit project called “From Me To You” in 2018 to help disadvantaged children discover their own beauty through the arts.
Ta Hong Hoang Anh has collaborated with many international choreographers and performed in Russia, Singapore, Cambodia, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, and Argentina.
He has worked for the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet, Civevox Juniox Company, and St. Gallen Dance School, and also collaborated with Rote Velo Company in their annual dance projects.
Hoang Anh has taught and performed as a freelance contemporary dancer in Hanoi since August 2018. From September 2019, he will start working at Tanzania der Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern.
