Conductor Jonas Alber to bring the fire of Beethoven to Hanoi

VOV.VN - Famous German conductor Jonas Alber will return to Vietnam for a performance of the Beethoven Cycle at Hanoi’s Opera House on March 22 at the invitation of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO).

Under the baton of conductor Jonas Alber, pianist Luu Duc Anh and the VNSO will present some of Beethoven’s most famous works including his overture to the ballet “The Creatures of Prometheus” Op.43; Piano Concerto no.1, C major, Op.15; Symphony no.1, C major, and Op.21.

Alber conducted an impressive performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony at a ceremony to open the German Year in Vietnam in 2010 and joined a concert of Brahms’ works in Hanoi five years ago.

From now to 2020, the VNSO will be performing the Beethoven Cycle to mark the 250th birthday of famous German composer and pianist Ludwig Van Beethoven.
