Classic Chilean children's stories to be published in Vietnamese language
VOV.VN - The Vietnam Education Publishing House, in collaboration with the Embassy of Chile, will translate and publish 12 books from the Papelucho series, a set of classic Chilean children's stories by writer Marcela Paz, into Vietnamese.
A cooperation document to this effect was recently signed by representative from the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the Embassy of Chile in Vietnam.
The series is a classic Chilean children's literature work, written in the form of a diary of the main character, an eight-year-old Chilean boy named Papelucho.
The story was published between 1947 and 1974 and was included in the Chilean primary education programme and later adapted into stage plays and comics.
This will be a new milestone in the cooperation between the two sides, helping to introduce and spread the unique features of Chilean culture and education to Vietnam, said Nguyen Tien Thanh, chairman of the Board of Members and general director of the Vietnam Education Publishing House.
The event is expected to open up opportunities to further enhance exchanges with Chilean partners in the publishing field, Thanh added.
For his part, Chilean Ambassador to Vietnam Sergio Narea expressed his hope that this will be a good start for future ties between the Vietnam Education Publishing House and Chile.
This is also one of the meaningful activities to ramp up linkages in cultural exchanges between the two countries, the Chilean diplomat added.
