China Walk joint media tour launched in Wuhan city

The 2025 “China Walk” joint media tour recently kicked off in Wuhan city, China's Hubei province, aiming to showcase modern China through the experiences of international journalists, artists, and influencers.

The tour is an international media initiative of the Asia-Africa Centre of China Global Television Network (CGTN) in collaboration with numerous international media organisations.

At the launching ceremony, drawing an impressive gathering of diplomatic representatives, media professionals, and artists from across the globe, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh affirmed that the programme in Wuhan provided an excellent opportunity for the international community to gain deeper insights into the city, fostering mutual exchange, learning, and cooperation between countries and Wuhan.

2025 marks the Vietnam-China Year of Humanistic Exchange, noting that initiatives like “China Walk” serve as a crucial catalyst for nurturing people-to-people connections between the two nations, he said.

He expressed his hope for expanded promotion of Wuhan's image to Vietnamese citizens while welcoming Chinese visitors to Vietnam, laying stress on the potential for collaboration between Wuhan and Vietnamese localities in technology, education, digital economy, green economy, and transport.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of CGTN and Director of the Asia-Africa Centre An Xiao Wu described Wuhan as a city rich in cultural heritage with an ideal ecological environment for living and tourism, pulsating with scientific innovation and creativity. Wuhan now presents the image of a modern, open, and inclusive city.

Following an art performance, delegates embarked on an evening cruise along the Yangtze River—a highlight experience where Wuhan's nocturnal beauty was enhanced by spectacular illuminations along both riverbanks.
