Canadian pianist set to stage gig on Nov. 3

Canadian pianist Stephanie Chua will perform at a piano recital at 7 p.m. on November 3 at the Soul Live Project in District 3, HCM City.

Inspired from the national anthem of Canada, the “From Far and Wide” concert is expected to take music enthusiasts through sweet melodies of contemporary masterpieces by world-famous composers such as Adam Sherkin, Brian Harman and Ann Southam.

Spectators will have the opportunity to listen to Northern folk melodies in a new version by the pianist as a gift to Vietnamese audiences during her first tour to the country.

Organized by the Soul Live Project in collaboration with the Consulate General of Canada in HCMC, the concert is part of a series of activities in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary.

Consul General of Canada in HCMC Kyle Nunas said Vietnamese artists will join hands with the Canadian pianist to perform masterpieces of Canada and Vietnam as a way to increase cultural exchanges between the two countries on the special occasion.

The Soul Live Project is located at 214-216 Pasteur Street in District 3.
