Calligraphy exhibition opens in Hanoi
Forty one classical and avant-garde calligraphy works featuring the traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) are being showcased at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum in Hanoi.
Calligrapher Pham Van Tuan delivers a brushwork performance at the opening ceremony of the exhibition on February 2 |
The works, inspired by poems of late renowned poets in Vietnam’s history, are written in Nom - the Chinese character-based Vietnamese script.
The event also features the brushwork performance and a calligraphy space for the community, where calligraphers teach children how to learn and write Nom scripts.
The event runs until March 2, except for the Tet festival from February 14-17.
