British Council helps preserve Vietnam’s heritage in community

The British Council in Vietnam has announced a project worth GBP500,000 (US$702,800) aiming to help Vietnam preserve, develop and promote its music and film heritage.

The project, to last from 2018 to 2020, focuses on the heritage values of music genres and films that are unpopular and on the verge of oblivion in Vietnam.
As part of the project, the council will work with localities, cultural heritage research institutes and relevant organisations to study, collect documents and improve their capacity in the work.

The project is expected to enable the localities to directly contribute to and benefit from cultural heritage protection.

The project forms part of activities marking 25 years of the council’s operation in Vietnam.
