Book on Vietnam communal house architecture released
Vietnamese people and researchers now have a chance to find out more about Vietnam’s communal house architecture in a new book by the Relic Conservation Institute, which was released on August 9.
The book Kien Truc Dinh Lang Viet (Viet Communal House Architecture) - volume 1 features pictures and information on 15 houses in northern Vietnam.
“Communal houses in Vietnam have long been an interesting subject for study. This book offers several perspectives, it is not only a photo book, but also offers drawings and research on houses in the north of Vietnam,” said deputy head of the Relic Conservation Institute Hoang Dao Cuong.
The photographs, drawings and research provide readers with relevant and accurate technical knowledge and information, which is being published for the first time. The history, architecture and sculpting of the houses’ details are also included with expert explanation and analysis.
Other houses of the central and the southern regions will be featured in future volumes.
