Big prizes for Vietnam at international floral design competition
VOV.VN - Vietnamese representatives took significant prizes at an international floral design competition as part of World Flower Council Summit 2023 which concluded in Da Lat city, central Vietnam, on September 11.
The gala night witnessed a demonstration of flower arrangements presented by 34 floral designers from Vietnam and 18 countries and territories from across the world.
In the Championship category, the gold and bronze prizes went to Nguyen Chi Thai and Ngo Hau of Vietnam, while Denny Lam of Singapore was awarded the silver prize.
Elsewhere, other Vietnamese contestants claimed three consolation prizes.
The most favourite design was presented to a Korean contestant, while the best creative design went to a Vietnamese entrant.
In the Friendship category, flower designers from the host country bagged the gold, silver, bronze and consolation prizes.
The 37th World Flower Council Summit got underway in Da Lat city from September 8 to 12, thereby marking the first event of its kind to be held in Vietnam.
Themed “Vietnam-Blooming with timeless charm” the gathering welcomed more than 200 attendees who are famous designers, experts, flower arrangement artists, and scientists from more than 18 countries around the world.
A wide range of activities were organised during the five-day event, including a floral display, as well as a workshop on fruit, vegetable, flower design, and flower fashion shows.
First held in 1983 by the World Flower Council (WFC), the World Flower Council Summit is to honour the values of flowers and the flower industry, whilst spreading world peace and sharing both love and knowledge about flowers.
