“Bánh hỏi” photo wins 2025 World Food Photography Award
VOV.VN - A photograph titled "Bánh hỏi", a delicately woven rice vermicelli dish from central Vietnam by Vietnamese photographer Dang Hoai Anh has won the Champagne Taittinger Food for Celebration category at the 2025 World Food Photography Awards.

The image captures a shirtless craftsman, eyes focused, lifting trays of steaming bánh hỏi from a giant steamer. The dramatic contrast of light and shadow, smoke and steam, creates a vivid portrayal of labor, skill, and cultural tradition.
According to the award’s website, Bánh hỏi is often served in soft rolls or layered sheets and considered indispensable during holidays, weddings, funerals, and ceremonies at communal houses and pagodas.
The photograph, according to the judges, honors the beauty of diligence and tradition in Vietnamese daily life, while showcasing the photographer’s keen eye for atmosphere and detail.
