Autumn Festival set to enliven Bac Ha mountains
VOV.VN - Bac Ha Autumn Festival 2023 is scheduled to take place in Bac Ha district of Lao Cai province from August to October, with the event featuring an array of fascinating cultural activities and sporting games.
An opening ceremony will be held on August 25 at the 300-year-old Trung Do Temple, a national historic site.
Furthermore, local authorities will organise a ceremony aimed at announcing the Shan Tuyet tea tree as an ancient tree heritage of the nation in Hoang Thu Pho commune on September 2.
Plenty of sporting activities will get underway in September, including a mountain marathon, a triathlon consisting of three events, including running, cycling, and kayak sailing; and the Bac H’Adventure sports event.
Moreover, visitors will discover the traditional craft of making com or young rice at Bac Ha market between September 23 and September 24. A contest on creating dishes from Com will also take place.
A lantern parade, a beautiful tray contest, and a tea making contest which celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival, known as Tết Trung Thu, will be held in October.
Bac Ha district is expected to welcome 30,000 arrivals during this Autumn Festival.
