Austria to host Vienna charity ball in Hanoi
A Vienna charity ball will be held in Hanoi on November 11, the Austrian embassy in Vietnam announced at a press briefing on November 10.
The gala is to celebrate the friendship between Austria and Vietnam and strengthen the cultural exchange between the two countries, said the Austrian Ambassador to Vietnam Georg Heindl.
It will include Polka and Polonasie dances performed by dancers from the ‘Olympic Dance Club’, and be attended by the famous Austrian designer of Vietnamese descent La Nhat Hong, who designed costumes for the Austrian sport delegation to Beijing Olympics 2008.
The ball will also be attended by Vietnamese singing stars such as Thanh Lam and Duc Tuan, and world renowned opera artist Marcela Cerno from Austria.
The organizers will auction off some artistic works; all proceeds will be donated to the Hanoi-based Huu Nghi village for disadvantaged children.
