Athletes compete at Taiwan Open Champs
(VOV) - Outstanding Vietnamese athletes are taking part in the two-day 2013 Taiwan Open Athletics Championships, which opened in Taipei, China, on May 27.
In the women’s events, Vietnam is represented by Tran Hue Hoa (triple jump), Pham Thi Diem (high jump), and Nguyen Thi Men (long jump and triple jump), as well as Nguyen Thi Huyen (400m), Nguyen Thi Oanh (400m hurdles) and Nguyen Thi Thuy (4x400m relay).
Dao Xuan Cuong (400m hurdles), Nguyen Truong Giang (javelin), Duong Van Thai (800m and 1,500m) and Pham Tien San (3,000m steeplechase) will compete in the men’s events.
The event has attracted 13 strong teams from around the world.
The Vietnamese athletes aim to gain more experience at the tournament in preparation for the upcoming 27th SEA Games in Myanmar this December.
