Asian Youth Orchestra to perform in Hanoi

(VOV) - The Asian Youth Orchestra (AYO) will present two concerts at Hanoi Opera House on August 10 and 11.
During two-day event, they will perform under the baton of James Judd and Richard Pontzious.
Artists will co-ordinate with cellist invitee Steven Isserlis to play "Overture Der Freischutz" (Weber), "Concerto for cello" (Dvorak), "Symphony No. 2" (Sibelius), "Symphony No. 3" (Brahms), "Concerto for cello" (Haydn), and "Symphony No. 5" (Beethoven).
The orchestra consists of 100 artists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam aged between 17 and 27.
Since its debut in 1990, it has given nearly 300 performances over the world, and as many as 20,000 artists have vied with each other to play for the band.
