Asia-Pacific Bonsai festival in HCM City
(VOV) - Gardeners and professional growers from more than 16 countries were on hand for the kick off of the Asia-Pacific Bonsai Festival on June 5 at Rin Rin Park – a Japanese-style garden located in the Hoc Mon District of HCM City.
Speaking at the event, Vo Van Cuong, Vice Chairmanof the Vietnam Ornamental Creatures Association, said the festival provides a great chance for those in attendance to discover the joy of the ancient practice.
In addition, attendees will have an opportunity to observe masters in the art of bonsai making and learn the secrets of the trade that's part art, part science and part meditation.

Tat Thanh Cang, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People’s Committee said the bonsai industry is considered a key agricultural industry of HCM City with plans for expanded cultivation areas in the offing.
During the festival, which runs until June 8, more than 700 bonsai works will be on display.
