ASEAN pageant rewards inner beauty
VOV.VN - The Miss ASEAN Friendship 2017 competition has created a new kind of beauty pageant that rewards contestants not just for their looks, but for their service and dedication to charities and helping the less fortunate.

Under heavy rains today (June 19) the 30 finalists visit families in the town of Hai Rieng in the southern coastal province of Phu Yen to bring them cheer. |

They come bearing gifts of basic things such as cash, rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, spices and other necessities that most people take for granted. Above: A young village couple say they are very appreciative and touched to receive the gifts. |

A young poor child of the village is unaccustomed to receiving gifts and isn’t quite sure of what to make of them and the special visit by the beautiful ladies of the competition. |

Despite the rain and power outages, the beauties say they are elated to be at the village helping the children. We want to help all ASEAN kids in whatever way we can, they say. |
