Artisans, vendors gear up for Vietnam Highlands Festival

VOV.VN - Thousands are gearing up for the annual – Vietnam Highlands Festival (Huong Sac Uplands)–an annual tradition when Hanoi comes alive like never before with bold cultural space. 

The Vietnam Highlands Festival will be a hub for fun, vendors, artisans, history and nature scenery on November 23 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture & Arts in Hanoi.


More than 100 volunteers work year-round planning events, tours, performances and exhibitions for the festival.

The festival is part of activities to mark the Cultural Heritage Day (November 23) and preserve traditional cultural values of ethnic people in the northern mountainous region. 

Visitors to the festival will be immersed in the life of highlanders and learn of their customs and traditions.




Bridesmaid in a wedding procession of the Red Dao are recreated with the participation of artisans, shaman from the Red Dao ethnic group from the provinces of Tuyen Quang and Lao Cai.

A variety of local specialities are introduced and sold at the festival. 




The festival takes place on November 23 at the Vietnam Exhibition Centre for Culture & Arts, No 2 Hoa Lu street in Hanoi.
