Art programm marks 40 years of southern liberation
(VOV) - As many as 5,000 artists on April 30 participated in an art program in Ho Chi Minh city to mark the 40th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification.
The program depicted the hard but heroic struggle of Vietnamese people for national independence from 1954 to 1975. It also featured the development of Ho Chi Minh city 40 years after liberation to become a developed city. A firework display was also held to mark the occasion.

In Hanoi, a fifteen-minute firework performance took place at 6 venues. Art performances were also held on outdoor stages around Hoan Kiem lake attracting thousands of locals and foreign visitors.
Nguyen Thi Hong, a Hanoian said she feels so cheerful and happy on this occasion and she is very proud of heroic tradition of Vietnamese people who bravely fought against foreign invaders for national independence.
