Ao Dai setting Vietnamese record to debut in Thailand
VOV.VN - An Ao Dai (traditional long dress) by designer Phuong Ho which set a Vietnamese record for the longest hand-made outfit with a length of 220.6 metres and a weight of 250 kg will be showcased in Thailand in July.
Designer Phuong Ho will introduce her latest collection at Look International Fashion Show, which is scheduled to take place on July 2 in Thailand.
The show will see the participation of five designers, including Phuong Ho, Ruby Tran, and Chanh Style from Vietnam.
Furthermore, two Thai designers Hirun and Alicio Brand will bring their collections "MuayThai" and "Siam" to the event.
Natrawee Chiarasathid, Miss Earth Water Thailand 2022, and Dinh Nhu Phuong, Miss Sea Island Vietnam 2022, will both model at the fashion show.
The Ao Dai which set a Vietnamese record is called “Non Song Gam Voc” and is made using 410 metres of taffeta fabric and dozens of kilos of details of different kinds of materials. Designer Phuong Ho shared that it took her team of over 20 workers more than a month to complete the Ao Dai.
The flap is made from 31 pieces of brocade and features cultural and historic characteristics and landscapes of the nation, as well as 3D images of lotus leaves.
In late April, this outfit was introduced at a fashion show in Phu Tho province during the Hung Kings’ Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week of 2023.
