Culture Monday, 18:20, 30/11/2020 Ao Dai Festival excites crowds in Hanoi VOV.VN - Up to 500 women and girls donning colourful traditional outfits participated in a vibrant parade for the Ao Dai Festival which took place in Hanoi on November 29. The administration of Hanoi holds a festival to celebrate Ao Dai, the nation’s traditional long dress, around Ho Guom Lake, also known as Sword lake, with the aim of honouring the cultural value of the garment. It is hoped that images showing local girls wearing Ao Dai will help to promote the Vietnamese tourism industry. Roughly 500 women and girls join in the festival’s parade. Women enjoy taking part in the street parade as they pay tribute to the national outfit. Girls can be seen wearing Ao Dai and Non La, a type of conical hat. The Vietnamese Ao Dai can be found in many countries globally. Indeed, many foreigners know the long dress as part of the country’s traditional outfits.
