4th Vietnam Bread Festival highlights its global appeal
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, in coordination with the Vietnam Culinary Conservation, Research and Development Centre, on March 19 unveiled the fourth Vietnam Bread Festival 2026, to showcase the global culinary value of Vietnamese bánh mì (bread) and its growing international appeal.
The event, due to take place from April 23-26 at Le Van Tam Park, Ho Chi Minh City, continues to serve as a signature cultural and culinary festival, while providing a platform for Vietnam–France cultural exchange.
According to Nguyen Thi Khanh, chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, the Vietnamese dish has evolved for more than 150 years, from its introduction to a highly creative process of localisation. The harmonious blend of ingredients, preparation methods, and flavours has helped elevate bánh mì into one of the world’s most renowned street foods.
Previous editions of the festival have seen growing popularity, attracting large numbers of local residents and international visitors.
This year’s event is expected to feature around 150 booths, displaying a diverse culinary space with the participation of numerous bánh mì brands and businesses from both Vietnam and abroad. Notably, the involvement of companies from the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam is set to foster engaging exchange and networking activities.
The festival will also host a range of programmes, including the Pagett Award competition and thematic seminars with participation from experts, artisans, and successful overseas bánh mì shop owners.
Organisers will also provide a business networking area for companies to promote their products, alongside a startup initiative offering bánh mì carts to support aspiring entrepreneurs.
The festival is anticipated to attract more than 200,000 visitors. With its growing scale and varied programming, the 2026 edition aims to further position itself as a key platform for showcasing Vietnamese culinary culture globally while contributing to tourism and economic growth in Ho Chi Minh City.
