2025 singing festival promotes Vietnam – China friendship

VOV.VN - Vietnamese and Chinese artists will gather together for an art exchange programme this week as part of activities to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 2025 Year of Vietnam – China Humanistic Exchange.

The Vietnam-China friendship singing 2025, scheduled to take place on July 18 at the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Theater in Hanoi, will be jointly organised by Voice of Vietnam in collaboration with the Radio and Television Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Radio and Television, and Radio Television Hong Kong (China).

This year’s programme will showcase meticulously produced artistic performances, featuring a diverse blend of traditional and modern music from both countries.

The exchange will witness the presence of Meritorious Artist Phan Thu Lan who possesses a soprano voice and is famous in chamber music along with Meritorious Artist Dang Thuat, the runner-up of the 2007 Sao Mai (Morning Star) singing contest, and renowned singer Ngoc Ha.

Symphony orchestra Sức Sống Mới, conducted by maestro Dong Quang Vinh, will offer a vibrant, youthful take on traditional Vietnamese instruments including the bamboo flute, dan tranh, dan bau, dan nhi, and T’rung.

The orchestra, founded in 2014 by Dong Quang Vinh, a graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, is composed of over 40 young musicians. The ensemble has performed internationally and collaborated with leading symphony orchestras.

The Chinese side will consist of prominent singers such as Wang Yifeng who is a soprano singer and a lecturer at the China Conservatory of Music.

Young singer Kandy Wong of Hong Kong (China), the vocal of the band Sugar Club, will bring Canto-pop and R&B songs to the event.

The Vietnam-China art exchange is not only an annual artistic activity, but is also an important cultural bridge, helping to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and China. With the unifying power of music, it aims to foster peace, shared cultural appreciation, and sustainable development across the region.
