2018 National Song and Dance Festival opens in Da Nang

The 2018 National Song and Dance Festival (the second stage) opened at Trung Vuong Theatre, Da Nang city on August 20. The event was jointly held by the Department of Performing Arts, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Dancing Artist Association, the Vietnam Musicians’ Association and Da Nang City’s Department of Culture and Sports.

The opening ceremony is attended by Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vuong Duy Bien and President of the Voice of Vietnam Nguyen The Ky and Deputy Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee Vo Cong Tri.

The Festival runs through August 31 with the participation of 18 art troupes nationwide.

People’s Artist Nguyen Quang Vinh from the Department of Performing Arts sets the stage with impressive art performances.

The event attracts the participation of renowned artists who have received prestigious titles from the State.

Miss Vietnam 2016 Do My Linh, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H’Hen Nie and Miss Globe 2017 Do Tran Khanh Ngan are present at the opening ceremony.

Addressing the event , People’s Artist Vuong Duy Bien, deputy minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that the festival is on track to trademark development and asserts itself as a strong trademark among art festivals in the country.

Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People’s Committee Dang Viet Dung described the event as a good opportunity for Da nang residents to meet art troupes and talented artists nationwide.

The festival aims to preserve, promote the value of traditional folk art, and help artists share experience and seek new art talents.
